Men: Would you be mad if your ex girlfriend never told you about a child you have together?

Author: admin Category: mad men

I mean I figured I was doing him a favor. We were young and well I figured I would raise the baby on my own. I’m 22 now and I got pregnant when we were 16. I mean I didn’t want him to find out about the baby, because I didn’t think he would he would care about me or the baby. Or he’d leave like men always do when you tell them you’re pregnant. Was I wrong?

I’m sure you had reasons to believe he would not care, but legally it is his right to know about the child…not to mention his responsibility to provide support for the child. Now the thing to do is to have him acknowledge paternity. If you contact your county or state bureau of vital statistics they can tell you how to do this. Once that’s established, then you start the process for getting child support and visitation.

Besides, not all men leave when a woman becomes pregnant. Many of them do shoulder their responsibilities. You just don’t hear about them.
