was that guy holding a gun at the end of the mad men season finale?

Yes, Pete was holding a gun, he got it when he returned a wedding gift of a chip & dip set. It was the Cuban Missile Crisis, and rumors were crazy and people panicked. I believe he was standing guard or being ready to defend himself against the Russians if they crashed the border. I have heard some people think he is contemplating suicide , but I don’t think that’s the case.

    I just watched that episode and it ended with Don and Betty in their kitchen holding hands, I didn’t see any guns.
